The following are some important announcements concerning the NHS Band for the week of 10/29/2018.
Sign-Ups for Region Band & All-State Jazz Band Auditionsare this week in the band office. The cost to audition is $12 for Region Band and $10 for All-State Jazz Band.
- If paying with cash, please bring the exactamount.
- If paying with check, please make payable to the NHS Band Boosters.
- If paying with BCP, fill out an authorization form.
Auditioning for region band is a requirement for the application to be a section leader next school year, as well as a requirement for Symphonic Honors next semester.
There will be an informational meeting concerning the NHS Jazz Bandon Thursday of this week at 3:45PM in the band room.
There are two volunteer opportunitiesfor band members – sign-ups are on the board in the band room.
- PEP BAND for the Alzheimer’s Walk-a-thon(This Saturday 11/3 from 9:30AM-10:00AM @ St. Johns Methodist (downtown))
- Veteran’s Day Ensemblefor Lakewood Baptist – November 11 @ 11AM
We are taking full band and sectional picturestoday during class. Individual portraitswill be taken Thursday of this week during PEAK, all three lunches, and during class.
PEAK is mandatoryfor all band members this week on Thursday.
Fruit Orders must be turned in to the purple box by next Wednesday, November 7.
We will begin rehearsing for our winter concert next Monday. Please see Mr. Tinker if you need to check out a concert instrument. Any school owned concert instruments (tubas, etc.) need to be returned to school this week for use during the school day.
Lastly, congratulations to all of our students on a terrific final performance on Saturday at the SCBDA 4A State Championships! A special shoutout to all of our volunteers and chaperones who made Saturday and this season possible! We couldn’t have done it without you!
