It’s been a hectic but rewarding week as we’ve welcomed back almost 1900 students to Northwestern High School. Here a few announcements for this week!
Mattress Thank You
The mattress sale was a great success, in large part, because you all were able to get the word out to the community. Many thanks to those that were present throughout the day to show their support of our program at the sale. Referral credits will be added to band student BCP ledgers sometime within the next several weeks.
Information for Saturday’s Football Game
Our first football game of the season is against South Pointe High School. Call time is at 6 PM at RHSD3 Stadium. The dress is summer uniform. We are not performing during halftime. This event is optional for colorguard members and front ensemble members but required for members of the drumline, woodwinds, and percussion. Winds will need folios and lyres. The approximate conclusion of Saturday’s game will be around 9:30 PM-9:45 PM. Students will need to be dropped and picked up at the stadium.
Next Week – Altered Rehearsal Schedule
To accommodate for the open house at NHS (next Tuesday), we are altering our rehearsal schedule next week.
- Monday – Rehearsal extends until 4:15 PM
- Tuesday – Students dismissed at 3:37 PM
- Wednesday – Students dismissed at 4:15 PM
- Thursday – Students dismissed at 3:37 PM. Return for evening rehearsal, 6 PM – 9 PM.
- Friday – Students dismissed at 3:37 PM. A football game at RHSD3 Stadium in the evening.
Olde English Band Competition
Later in September, the NHS Band Boosters and the RHHS Band Boosters host a marching band competition at RHSD3 Stadium called Olde English.

Spirit Night at FATZ Cafe Next Monday!
FATZ Cafe is hosting a spirit night on Monday, August 26, 2019, from 4 PM until close to benefit the NHS Band Program. We encourage our families to spread the word to skip the home-cookin’ next Monday and instead, dine at FATZ!
