Greetings!
We want to take a minute to thank everyone for all the help on Saturday with the game. Although there were some unexpected occurrences, overall, things went well despite the weather. Plase e sure to subscribe to our REMIND text messages so you receive notifications of any changes that occur!
While we e-mail information and make posts to our band website, parents’ best source for information is our monthly booster meetings. Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 7, at 7:00 pm in the band room. Booster meetings are almost always less than an hour and are open to all band and colorguard parents.
Updates for this week:
- Students MUST bring their water bottles to all rehearsals. Water fountains are disabled at school. We will always have water available at the field to refill water bottles.
- We have a home game again this week at District 3 Stadium on Friday, August 27. Kickoff is at 7:30 pm. Details include:
- Students should be dropped off and picked up near the gate at the corner of Chester and Stadium Streets.
- Call time for students is 6:30 pm
- Summer uniforms – khaki shorts and 2021 show shirt
- We will perform both pregame and halftime
- Students need to bring their water bottles
- The game should be over between 9:30 and 10:00. Please be sure to plan to pick your child up as soon as possible after the game. A REMIND text will be sent as we approach the end of the game.
- Don’t forget to reach out to family and friends about the mattress sale on Saturday, 10:00 to 5:00 in the band room. We hope each family will find someone thinking about purchasing a mattress to stop by and see what we have to offer. The mattress sale is an excellent opportunity to raise money for the students and the booster club while providing a quality product, at an affordable price, for your family and friends.
- By now, all families should have finalized and submitted shoe and glove orders. Please be sure to contact me as soon as possible if you did not place your order.
- Parents, if you would like to order a 2021 Show Shirt, please click here to place your order by August 27, 2021.
- Please remember to sign up for a time slot to volunteer at the Olde English Tournament of Bands on Saturday, September 25. This is an event we co-host with the RHHS Band of Distinction for the past 37 years and we need everyone’s help to make it successful. If everyone does their part, no one will have to work multiple shifts.
- Be sure to purchase a personal ad in the Olde English Tournament of Bands program to show your love and support for your child. Click here to see ads that have been printed in the past and click here for information on purchasing and creating an ad for the program. Also, if your employer might be interested in supporting the contest, click here for details about business ads.
Please reach out to the band staff if there are any questions or concerns. We hope to see all of you at the open house this evening or at the game Friday night.
