Happy Thanksgiving! I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation to all Northwestern band families for making my job such a joy on a daily basis. I can honestly say I look forward to coming to school every day. Thank you for all you do to make this possible, and for all you do for this program. You are wonderful!
Announcements and reminders:
- The Rock Hill Christmas Parade is on Friday, December 3rd. We will meet at 5:30 on the lawn adjacent to Dinkins Hall (#37 on the attached map) and the parade starts at 6:30. The parade will end in the parking lot across Black Street from the District Office. I anticipate we will finish no later than 7:30pm. For details on road closures, click here. More detailed information will be shared with you next week.
- Please be sure the following dates are on your calendars:
- Saturday, December 4 – Fruit Delivery: mandatory attendance for all students who sold fruit. Additional information will be shared next week.
- Monday, December 6 – Booster meeting. Join on Zoom HERE.
- Thursday, December 9 – Holiday Concert: mandatory attendance for all students except colorguard. Additional information will be shared next week.
- Proofs of the individual band pictures can be viewed by clicking HERE. Instructions on how to order are also on the site. The deadline to order is November 30. Proof sheets were sent home with students last week.
- If you are registered for region band auditions but have not yet paid the $12.00 registration fee, please do so ASAP.
- Please remember the 2nd payment for the spring trip was due on November 15th and the next payment is due December 15th. Please be sure to send your payment directly to Stamm Travel with the payment coupon!
- If you wish to pay using BCPs, please indicate this on the payment form you send to Stamm, and complete the BCP authorization form so we can transfer your payment. We will send one check to cover all BCP payments each month.
- We still have spots left for this trip if you have not yet signed up!
- The trip is April 8-11 and will include visits to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and several other historic and educational locations throughout the weekend. Payment information, as well as detailed information about the trip, is available in the band room or on the website HERE
Lastly, please be sure to keep up with assignments posted in Canvas. The assignments aren’t difficult, but they require a few minutes of focused practice to ensure a high quality performance. There are no new assignments over the break, but students are encouraged to find time to practice before we return next week. There are only 10 rehearsals left before the concert!
