Happy New Year NHS Band Family! We look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday, January 7, 2019. Here are a few quick reminders as we get the year started.
INFO FOR STUDENTS: Band students will need their instruments on the first day of school! Students returning to the band this semester who need a school-owned instrument to use will be issued one on the first day. The band room will be open on Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday during FLEX for students preparing an audition for the Region Band. While the band hall will generally be available during FLEX for all current band students, this week is limited to region band students only.
INFO FOR PARENTS: We will hold our monthly Band Booster Meeting this Monday, January 7, 2019, in the band room at 7 PM. The executive board will meet prior at 6:30 PM in the strings room. We promise this will be short, efficient, and informative meeting and still have you home in time to see the kickoff for the national championship game!
We still have about 100 boxes of surplus grapefruit and oranges available. Mr. Yost went through the boxes and found that most cartons didn’t have any spoiled pieces. Those that did typically only had one piece that had turned. Our fruit supply isn’t going to last much longer, so, this week we will sell 40lbs pound boxes for $20 and 20lbs for $10. Those interested can mix and match as much as you please. We will fill each box by hand to ensure you do not receive any fruit that is spoiled. You won’t find any grocery store selling navel oranges or pink grapefruit for fifty cents a pound! We will discard all fruit not purchased this week. If possible, please plan to buy your fruit after the booster meeting on Monday night.
