HAPPY SUMMER! The following message contains a few reminders and announcements about band-related activities and our program.
TUESDAY EVENING MUSIC REHEARSALS & PARENT VOLUNTEER TRAINING SESSIONS
For Students:
The NHS Bandwilll meet on Tuesday evening, July 9 & July 16, and 23 from 6 PM – 8 PM in the Band Room for music rehearsals in the band room. Please plan to attend if you’re in town! If you need show music, you can view and print a copy from our band website. The music download section is on the Members page! Music is available for winds and percussion on the site. There are also MP3s of the show music for members to listen to and download.
Members of the 2019 Colorguard have been busy throughout the summer, working on fundamental techniques. They will present a summer dance recital on Friday, July 26, 2019, at 5 PM in the RRMS Auditorium. Let’s fill the auditorium and support these wonderful young men and women who play such an integral part in the success of our program.
For Parents/Guardians:
To be eligible to chaperone or volunteer for the band in an official capacity for any event for the upcoming school year, please plan to attend one of our training sessions. We will hold the first training sessions this Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
- 7/9 – 2 sessions available, 6PM-7PM & 7PM-8PM
- 7/16 – 1 session available, 7PM-8PM
- 7/23 – 2 sessions available, 6PM-7PM & 7PM-8PM
If you would like to chaperone and are unable to meet during any of these scheduled sessions, please contact our chaperone chair, Tanya Tucker.
SUMMER MAILING
This week, the band office sent our summer mailing containing a letter from Mr. Yost, an updated 2019 Fall Performance Schedule, another copy of the summer schedule, band fee information, and our band camp “Survival Guide.” If you don’t receive this mailing within the next few days, please let us know so we can double-check the mailing address we have for you on file. The documents are also linked above.
We look forward to welcoming back our returning members and embracing our new members into the Purple Regiment Band Family! BAND CAMP STARTS JULY 29 AND IS MANDATORY FOR ALL 2019 PURPLE REGIMENT MEMBERS!
