  • Wednesday, November 4 – Rehearsal from 2:15 to 3:30 at school.

I know some new dates were added, and there may be some conflicts. Please contact Mr. Yost as soon as possible if there are any questions or concerns about any of these events.

As we have mentioned in the past, the band is sitting on the visitor’s side of the stadium, and there is a section next to the band for band parents. If you would like to purchase tickets for the games on the 24th or the 30th, click here. Once you are on the site, enter the passcodes below for each game:

Rock Hill Game – bandparent
Spring Valley Game – bandparents

If you purchased tickets last week for the Spring Valley game, those will be honored on September 30th.

Olde English:

To purchase tickets for the Olde English Festival of Bands please click here and follow the directions regarding payment and pickup. Tickets will also be available at the end of Tuesday evening rehearsals. We have a limited number of tickets available, so be sure to purchase them as soon as possible!

We are also pre-selling Olde English T-shirts this year for $15.00. These will be distributed to students the week after the performance. The booster club is also creating an Olde English program this year, and parents are encouraged to purchase ads to celebrate their child in the program. Look for a message from the booster club with additional information.

Finally, regarding Olde English, we are looking for a few parent volunteers to help out the day of the event. This is a much shorter day, and we are greatly limiting what we are doing to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy. To that end, we will not have any student volunteers and the parent volunteers are very few. If you are available to help, please click here to sign up for a volunteer position and time that works for your schedule. As an incentive, volunteers will not need to purchase a ticket!

Other general announcements:

  • Please encourage your child to practice every day and remind them to submit their attendance checks and assignments for their virtual learning days.
  • Seniors need to have their senior night surveys submitted by the end of the day on Friday, October 16th.
  • Region and All-State Band auditions will be held virtually this year through video recording submissions, which must be uploaded no later than Friday, January 9th. However, to submit a recording, the students must be registered. Registrations will start on October 26 and will run through November 6. The registration fee is $12.00 and can be paid with BCPs, a check payable to NHS Bands, or cash. Audition material is available for students to pick up in the band room. The same information and dates also apply for the all-state jazz band auditions.
  • Students are reminded to please pay for the folios and lyres they received in August. See Mr. Yost or Ms. Carlson if you don’t remember the amount you owe
  • Lastly, if any student needs help to pay for their folio and lyre or pay the region band audition fee, please be sure to take advantage of the fruit sale continuing through November 6th. This is an excellent opportunity to build BCP accounts to pay for band fees, future trips, as well as the incidental expenses mentioned above!

Thank you all once again for your support of our program and music education in our schools. I hope to see all of you over the next few weeks at our performances. Please be sure to stay safe, and let me know if you have any questions.
