I would like to thank everyone for coming out to support the students at our Holiday Concert last week. It seemed like everyone enjoyed the evening, and I know the kids greatly appreciated your enthusiasm for their music and hard work. I am also proud to announce that we raised $258.00 for the Toys for Happiness campaign. The folks at WRHI were very excited to receive the donation and assured me it would be used to ensure children in York County will have a happy and joyous Christmas this year. Thank you for your generosity and all you do for our program, and the students, throughout the year.
Information for this week includes:
Congratulations:
Seniors Stephen Hodges, Bassoon, and Chandler Williams, Tuba, have been selected to participate in the 45th Annual University of South Carolina Honors Band Clinic and Conductor’s Symposium, February 17-19, on the USC campus. These two young men will join students from over 100 schools across five states to work with guest clinicians from across the country to prepare a concert in the Koger Center on Sunday, February 19.
Fruit:
Thank you for the help with the fruit Saturday. We still have just a few more boxes left to sell, so if you know of anyone looking for some additional fruit or a gift idea for someone in the office, we might be able to help. The extras for sale include:
1 Toffee & Mandarin gift box – $25.00
1 10# Grapefruit – $30.00
2 10# Mandarin Oranges – $35.00 each
Hawaii Information Meetings:
There will be two information meetings about the Hawaii trip approved for spring break 2024. They will be on Tuesday, January 10, and Thursday, January 12. Both meetings will start at 7:00 pm and will be in the Sullivan Middle School Auditorium. The same information will be presented at both meetings, so parents only need to attend one of the meetings. This information will include travel dates, a tentative itinerary, cost, and payment plan.
Band Booster News:
Please click HERE to read through December’s Booster meeting minutes. The next parent meeting will be Monday, January 9, at 7:00 pm in the band room.
Monthly Band Fee Payments:
Remember to make your monthly band fee payment. You can pay with cash, check, or money order, place it in an envelope with your child’s name and the payment, and then have your child drop it by the band office. You can also deduct it from your child’s BCP account by filling out the form HERE. Another option is to pay it electronically directly to the school by clicking HERE.
Please let us know if you are any questions or concerns, and thank you again for all you do for our students.
